I have a not typical German family name - Tschirnich. And some years ago, somebody pointed out to me that it has a Slavic origin. Curious as I am, I started digging into my family history and found out, that my great-great-grandparents came from Northern Bohemia (today‘s Czech Republic) to Vienna in the 1860s.
Doing family research, I learned a lot about Austrian archives and where to find information. On top of it all, I could use a skill that my grandmother taught me, reading „Kurrentschrift“, old style German handwriting.
If you have family roots in Austria and you have been trying to find out more, but don‘t know where to start, I offer my skills and services to you. Contact me to find out more about prices and conditions.
